SUMMER 2020
I joined Each One Teach One because I want to pursue a career in STEM. This experience was a great opportunity to learn and grow and meet new people. During my five-week internship, I gained new valuable skills in coding, web development and design, and data science. I enjoyed working on my projects, from replicating and creating a new design for the SF Bay Area ISSA Chapter website to coding with Google Colab notebooks.
DATA SCIENCE MAJOR PROJECT
I created visualizations using Fitbit data and with datasets on Google Colab.

For the online databases project, I used a dataset containing the temperatures in San Francisco for each hour in 2010. First, I experimented with creating different bar graphs using data from the first day and week of 2010. Then, I wanted to find out how the highest and lowest temperatures in San Francisco for each day changed throughout the seasons. I made bar graphs for the hourly temperatures on the first day of January, April, July, and October. I found that out of the four days, January had the lowest temperature and October had the highest temperature.

WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT MAJOR PROJECT
The San Francisco Bay Area ISSA Chapter requested that Each One Teach One interns help with creating a new chapter website. We were given complete creative freedom in how we could redesign the website. In my proposal, I wanted to keep the simplicity of the original ISSA website. I decided to give my proposed website a dark blue theme to match the ISSA logo and chose fonts that made the website look more modern. I also condensed information on the original ISSA website onto single pages to make the website easier to navigate.
GITHUB AND CODECADEMY
I learned how to program with Python, HTML and CSS through courses on Codecademy. Here is a link to the Codecademy badges I have acquired as well as my Github profile.
INTRO TO CINEMATOGRAPHY
In this lesson, we learned about the basics of cinematography, including types of shots and the 180 degree rule. Our assignment was to film three shots with different angles and camera movements. I compiled and edited this video using iMovie and then uploaded it on Youtube.
VIDEO
Our first assignment was to interview our partners about why they joined Each One Teach One. I met with my partners Athena and Belle over Zoom while recording the meeting. This video was edited using iMovie and then uploaded on Youtube.
For this second interview, I answered questions on my personal growth and my favorite moments to wrap up my summer 2020 internship at Each One Teach One.
PHOTOGRAPHY
For the photography module, we learned about the differences between taking personal and professional photos. We also created photography portfolios using Google Photos. This slideshow has just a few of the photos in my photography portfolio.
